Funding for mobilities to Europe - NESSIE programme

The Final is now open (closing 12th July 2015) which supports the opportunity for short term travel to do research or study in Europe. Potential funding is available to University of Queensland PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and academic/administrative staff through the European Union Erasmus Mundus program, Networking on Environmental Safety & Sustainability Initiative for Engineering (NESSIE). The eligible participating universities in the NESSIE consortium to which the University can send or receive support funds are listed below:

Major areas of interest and activity include:

  • Biomedical Engineering, specifically biomedical instrumentation, medical imaging and biosignal analysis
  • Photonics research incorporating laser sensing and biophotonics
Mobilities currently fully funded are:
  • 10 and 18 months for existing PhDs,
  • Up to 6 months for post-doctoral fellows

  • UdG-University of Girona (Girona, Spain);
  • UTV-Universitadeglistudi di Roma Tor Vergata (Roma, Italy);
  • NTUA-National Technical University of Athens;
  • Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland);
  • TUL-Technical University of Liberec (Liberec, Czech Republic);
